The initial visit (typically 75 minutes) involves taking an in-depth history of your health in order to understand all areas of your life. To assist the Naturopathic Doctor in making an assessment and diagnosis, information will also be gathered from a physical examination and laboratory tests.
The primary aim of the first few visits is to develop a personalized treatment plan that will address necessary dietary changes and possible nutrient deficiencies. Based on your concerns, the use of botanical medicines, acupuncture, homeopathic medicine, physical medicine and lifestyle counseling may also be incorporated. Subsequent visits (typically 30-45 minutes) will involve assessing your progress and making appropriate adjustments to your treatment plan. Time will also be placed on educating you on the principles of healthy living and preventative medicine.
